Can’t believe it’s my last day in Israel. It’s been amazing.

More pre-Israel babbling

In less than 24 hours, I’ll be on the longest flight, the longest vacation and possibly the most incredible journey of my life! I’m so excited but also nervous. Did I pack the right stuff? Will my apartment be OK? Will I be OK (emotionally, physically, technologically)?

Besides all the amazing experiences I’m sure I’ll have, I can’t wait for all the photos I’m going to take, not only of the sights I’ll see but also of things as mundane as restaurant receipts and storefront signs. It will be so cool to compare what things look like there to what they look like here. The only thing missing will be my favorite coffee chain, which unfortunately does not reside in Israel. :(

Earlier in the day, I wanted to type out of all these insightful, beautiful, smart-sounding thoughts that don’t actually exist in my mind right now. The only thing I can really think of? Let’s get this show on the road!

Leaving on a jet plane

And I will be back on March 25. I leave Wednesday for my first trip ever outside the U.S., and I’m making my way to Israel!

While in Israel, I’m going to keep a journal, some of which I hope to recreate here when I come back. And you’ll definitely have to check out my friend Jackie at Rambling and Writing for some guest blog posts following my return.

I’m going to try posting some pictures when I’m on my trip, but I’m not sure what the Wi-Fi situation will be like. It’s going to be really interesting not having a phone and the Internet at my disposal for 10 days….
